Walkers of all ages gathered at the Sandwich Co-op on Saturday 7th September to raise awareness of dementia and raising valuable funds for the Alzheimer's Society.
Friends, supporters, Councillors, clients and their carers from The Sunflower Centre, Dementia Services in Sandwich joined Age Concern Sandwich Staff, Trustees and Volunteers along with the Co-op staff, to take part in the annual Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk Events 2024 round Sandwich on Saturday.
Thank you to everyone who walked, including local Community Warden Peter Gill, who kept us safe on our walk.
Big thanks go to Sandwich Co-op Manager Paul Harris, and Sally Barclay, Manager of Age Concern Sandwich Sunflower Centre Dementia Services, for organising such an invaluable event.
Please be aware that every three minutes someone develops dementia and it’s estimated that by 2040, 1.6 million people will have the condition.
There is still time to donate if you'd like to.
