Welcome to Sneller Farm – A Knitted Masterpiece! - 08 Oct 2026

There’s a new farm in Sandwich, and it’s rather special! No muddy boots, no early morning milking and certainly no mucking out – because this entire farm has been lovingly knitted!

We were absolutely delighted to welcome members of the Sandwich Artisan Crafting Group to Age Concern Sandwich for the presentation of a truly wonderful gift to our Sunflower Centre – an incredible knitted creation called Sneller Farm.

This amazing miniature farm is the work of the very talented Margaret Simmons, with help from fellow crafters Lesley, Pauline and Elaine. And what a masterpiece they have created!

A Farm Full of Wonderful Details
At first glance, Sneller Farm is impressive enough, but take a closer look and you'll discover just how much thought, patience and skill have gone into every little corner.

There's a charming farmhouse, a tractor ready for work, an assortment of farm animals and a beautiful pond complete with ducks and swans. There are even neat little rows of vegetables growing in the fields!

Everywhere you look, there's something else to discover. The attention to detail is quite extraordinary, and it's hard to imagine just how many hours of knitting, planning and careful stitching have gone into bringing this delightful little world to life.

A Very Special Gift for Our Sunflower Centre
Sneller Farm has been generously donated to our Sunflower Centre, which provides specialist day support for people living with dementia.

We know this wonderful creation will bring hours and hours of enjoyment to our clients. With so many familiar scenes and fascinating details, it offers lovely opportunities for conversation, shared memories, smiles and laughter.

From reminiscing about countryside life and favourite animals to simply admiring the extraordinary craftsmanship, there's so much to enjoy.

And we suspect there will be plenty of people wanting to take a closer look!

Celebrating Our Talented Local Crafters
The Sandwich Artisan Crafting Group meets at Age Concern Sandwich every Wednesday morning from 9.30am to 11.30am, bringing together people who share a love of crafting, creativity and good company.

Sneller Farm is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when talent, imagination and generosity come together. It's also a lovely reminder that something handmade can mean so much more than the materials used to create it.

A Huge Thank You!
On behalf of everyone at Age Concern Sandwich, and especially our clients and staff at the Sunflower Centre, we would like to say an enormous THANK YOU to Margaret, Lesley, Pauline and Elaine.

Your time, talent, patience and kindness are truly appreciated. You've created something quite extraordinary, and we're so grateful that you've chosen to share it with us.

Sneller Farm has found its forever home, and we couldn't be happier to welcome its new residents!
