Today’s Dementia Roadshow was a truly positive and inspiring event, bringing together people from across the community to share information, support and understanding around dementia care and services in our area.
It was wonderful to see so many people attending throughout the day, seeking advice, asking questions and discovering the wide range of support available to them and their families. Events like this are such an important reminder that nobody has to face dementia alone, and that help, guidance and compassionate support are available locally.
One of the most encouraging aspects of the day was seeing so many organisations, charities, support groups and healthcare providers exhibiting together under one roof. The opportunity for different associations to network, share knowledge and build connections with one another was invaluable. By working together and understanding the services each organisation can offer, we are able to strengthen support across the whole community and ensure people can access the help they need more easily.
We were also honoured to welcome Sir Roger Gale MP and Cllr Dan Friend to the Roadshow. Their visit gave them the opportunity to meet many of the organisations involved, speak with attendees and gain a greater understanding of the dementia support available within our area and the importance of continuing to support these vital services.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, exhibited, volunteered and helped make the day such a success. The atmosphere throughout the event was welcoming, informative and supportive, and it was clear to see the difference that partnership working and community spirit can make.
We hope everyone who attended left feeling informed, reassured and connected, and we look forward to continuing to work together to support those living with dementia and their loved ones across our community.
